First question of May 2010.

Every year, we as audiences watch/hear about numerous awards shows. Grammy's, Oscars, Emmys, ect al.
To get in the spirit of the upcoming APA's, which award winner (of any award show EVER) has stuck out to you? Why? Was it their reaction? Was it so well deserved? Was it the crowd? What is your all-time favorite award winning moment?

I'll answer quickly:

Without a doubt my favorite award moment would have to be the 1999 Daytime Emmy's when Susan Lucci finally nabbed her best actress win. After so many nominations, it seemed like maybe she would *never* win. Shemar Moore announced the winner, and right from him yelling "The streak is over ..." the audience was buzzing. Susan's emotional speech and long-lasting standing O was amazing. I even loved when she said "I have so many people to thank and they're telling me to wrap it up". Just amazing crowd support for her to keep going, and she did. It was just a moment that I still get chills about.

For me, it was Jeanne Cooper in 2008 when she won her Leading Actress Nomination! Such a deserving win. But the acceptance speech was amazing. "I bet you thought I had died. High Definition or not High Definition what can I tell ya, it's a bitch isn't it?" Such an incredible actress, especially at her age. To still have the umph! God, I love her.

I will have to say I agree with Dallas' choice here. I remember watching that particular moment at home with my mom in 1999 and really experienced how powerful that reveal and acceptance was. She seemed so overwhelmed with joy and I think everyone that watched just had a beaming smile on their face:)

i agree with dallas and jay here.

I love how the entire soap community supported her, and gave her the standing o.
I love how you can hear (not see oprah) yell 'Susan'
To me this was the best moment at the daytime emmys.

I'm going to go against the grain here as far as Daytime Emmy's goes. I really loved the moment that Jordi Vilasuso won the younger actor emmy in 2003, the reason is that I thought it was very well deserved and he acted his butt off that year. Plus Guiding Light was good back then.

Second was when Jeannie Cooper won last year I don't think I have ever smiled that big EVER over the daytime Emmy's could be that I consider them to be a major joke at this point. She played duel roles that year and IMO it was long overdue.

I'm also going against the grain and will say when Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won there Oscar. I remember bawling considering that I thought Denzel and Halle had other roles that they had. It was one of those rare moments I felt like anything could happen. I remember tearing up at Halle's speech. She was so raw. I love Denzel Washington so it was wonderful to see him take home the gold. After all anyone who saw Malcolm X knew he should of won the Oscar.

When SL just stood up there in awe and everyone clapped and clapped and clapped. I was struck what a community soaps are. Her other leading ladies jumped up and cheered. It was awesome. I also would have to go with Genie Francis who snatched that Emmy also! I loved her portrayal of Laura and thought she was beyond deserving when lucky died.

^ I love Denzel Chris, but Halle was just so undeserving that year. Yes, Monsters Ball was great, but no way should she had beaten Nicole Kidman for Moulin Rouge. I just think that is one of the biggest Oscar snubs in the history of the awards.

the oscars are a joke. Eve's Bayou (1997) was a fantastic movie that the oscars didn't show any love to. Debbie Morgan was AMAZING, yet was over looked at Oscar time

Oh I agree on Eve's Bayou that movie was stunning visually and was all around damn good. Don't get me started on Debbi Snub! Debbi Morgan was spellbinding and if that movie came out now she would of had that Oscar. In all honesty Denzel should of one it for Malcolm X years ago. But I remember both of them winning on that night. Nicole got her Oscar it just wasn't her night.

I'm an Emmy junkie! Both Primetime and Daytime. Here's some of my favorites:

DAYTIME
1. Susan Lucci - "The streak is over" That was just a crowning moment in the daytime industry. For La'Lucci to finally receive her Emmy was a moment everyone could be proud of. I love watching the clip on YouTube. And it was on the cover of People. Love, love it!!

2. Jeannie Cooper - "I bet you thought I had died." A diva at her finest. Jeannie Cooper deserved to win an Emmy, not sure it was for the faux baby switch storyline but it was nice to see her get what she so rightly deserved. And the fact she said, but "we're #1." Love her!!

PRIMETIME

1. Debra Messing - This is the only one that really comes to mind, just the fact that she set there year after year after year without nothing and she was so good. Plus it allowed W&G to go down in Emmy/TV history as one of the few shows where the entire ensemble were Emmy award winners.
