Yay part 2 is up!
Alexander/Kyle/Lacresha- I adored their scenes Ty. Some parents just don't know how to be parents, or really think they are doing something for the right reasons only to be left in the cold at the end of the day. I feel this with these two and it was very well done. I adore Lacreasha as Kyle's fiance and I have always loved them together and I loved when she told Alexander to keep walking.
That warms my heart that you adored these scenes, Kelly. The Alexander/Kyle/Lacreasha scenes were probably the easiest ones for me to write of the three main featured stories in this episode. I think you and Dallas may be onto something about the father/son dynamic between Alexander and Kyle. The idea that he could have a healthy relationship with his father appeals to him because he's never had one, but seeing that come true could be more than he bargained for. And I, too, loved when Lacreasha told Alexander he could keep on stepping.
Shanna/Andrew- So I was beyond thrilled when she tossed his butt out. I think I did a snoppy dance somewhere and hubby gave me some weirdo look. Anyways, I loved their scenes I felt the tension beck between them yet I completely got where she was coming from and I am glad that she stuck to her guns.
I thought it was important to reinforce that Shanna's heart is still with Ben-- no doubt about it. Her feelings for Andrew tend to be that mixed of casual camaraderie and friendship. Andrew was there for a period of time in her life where Ben was off chasing skeletons in Shalia's past. He also opened her world back into art, something she hadn't thought about since she was banished from Louisiana by her parents. However, he has been living through her grief and becoming attached because of it, so Shanna feels the best course of action is to let him be free. Unfortunately, she has no idea how deep her words
cut tonight, but she will find out in due time.
Wilden/Juliet- I am not a fan of cat fights but this was so well done I give you a huge kudos Ty. I adored their scenes, I'm still kinda rooting for Wilden to kinda win out but I loved it!
I'm actually with you there on catfitghts. In fact, this is probably the first major one I've written in the span of the series entire run. I just think talking alone, however, would have been very ineffectual here. The scenes needed that extra intensity to really drive home how much Darrons means to both of them. It was purely about obtaining power over the other, in which Widlin found herself with a surprisingly strong adversary. The loving of a good man, perhaps.
Sandy/Romaine/Karaoke Guy- I was laughing so hard with this scene Ty I thought it was great comic relief to balance out the rest of what was happening in the episode.
Overall a great read Ty and it is so great to have you back and producing again! I look forward to the next one!
I really wanted there to be a karaoke portion of the quad's night out, so I'm happy that I was able to put in these scenes, and that you received the intended humor in them. It was also a way of briefly touching on the fact that Sandy is still very much affected by Mitchell's new marriage, and she's desperately trying to hold onto something else to minimize the pain. I'm happy to hear it was an enjoyable read for you, and I hope the next release will be just as enticing.
Finally had time to sit down and catch up on TMOOL on my break today, and what a treat. I simply adore the series Ty. I never realize until it's been a while since I've read an episode and am able to get back into the swing of things with the series as a whole.
Thanks Dallas. It's great to have an adoring fan. I really want to close the chapter on these stories this year, so hopefully I will be able to produce episodes regularly.
Alexander/Kyle -- Some intense scenes with Kyle still habouring feelings of neglect from Alexander growing up. Obviously there's some deep rooted hurt here and it's interesting to see how this plays out, because Kyle obviously WANTS to care for his father, after all he let him see his new child and he keeps defending him to his finance. Their lunch should be interesting to say the least. I wonder if Widlin is right ... will Alexander screw it up just by being himself?
Kyle has been stuck in this rut since the beginning of the season, a good 30+ episodes ago. So taking his father up on the offer seem like the best way of yielding some resolution. PLUS, with his mother dead, the Pierre's are the only family he knows and has outside of Lacreasha. Alexander's timing for the truce was great because Kyle's honestly has found a great deal of security with Lacreasha and living in Hallandale (something he wasn't able to first time around), which has enabled him to move past the issues with his father because they just simply stopped registering with him. I'm looking forward to writing what's ahead for these three.
Andrew/Shanna -- So Andrew has a hidden agenda! This made it more interesting, I thought he was just seriously into Shanna. It makes you wonder though, how are is he going to go to get to her? And what exactly does Shalia have to do with it? You've laid some nice ground work here Ty. Bravo.
This really launches us into the final phase of the Andrew/Shalia/Derek/Shanna storyline. Everything Andrew has done up to this point has been apart of an elaborate plan to get back at Shanna for the death of his brother, Terrell Bryce. It's just somewhere along the way, he started to buy into his own deception. However, hearing Shanna tonight tout Ben as the greatest love of her life was the kicker that reminded him why he loathed this woman so much. While she wasn't the one to ultimately kill Terrell, Andrew holds her personally responsible because his brother loved and trusted her, and she betrayed him when she confessed to her parents that he was investigating their possible mob ties. In Shanna's defense, she thought Terrell was completely wrong, and learned in the worse possible way how right he was. Andrew hints at his ultimate plan in the next episode. I'm happy to hear you're pleased with the latest developments.
Darron/Widlin/Juliet -- SO much fun was the catfight in the washroom. What was even better was that everyone was wondering where the ladies were while we knew the drama that was going on inside. The cattiness was just spot on from both. I would have liked to see a better reaction from Darron; he didn't seem shocked or upset at all that women were fighting over him (perhaps a secret fantasy?

). Still fantastic job with this. I'm excited to see where it goes.
Lovely episode Ty, I'm eager for the next!
I see where you're coming from in regards to Darron. The scene was actually re-written becuase the first time around, I felt he came off too aggressive. The compromise ended up being a little tame, since he's almost placating her instead of getting to the bottom of what all launched this fighting - Widlin seriously walked over their relationship tonight, and he probably could have done a better job explaining himself, and handling the situation. As for the secret fantasy, perhaps, but he's not really a stranger to woman fighting over him. I think in context, he is moreso shocked that Juliet, of all people, would engage in such behavior because she's such a traditional, classy woman.
Thank you both for your feedback. It has been very helpful in terms of laying out the direction I want to continue these stories in.
